This week, we started the actual sewing. It is a very fun but 'dangerous' process as we are using the real cloth for sewing.
Materials:
Before we start, we have to make sure that our materials are ready. Here, I will be listing down the materials I will be using for this week's sewing.
Now that we have our materials ready, we can start
Procedure which I took this week:
1. Sketch on the paper the design of your bag (with the correct measurements)
2. Cut the design out
3. Fold the outer cloth and lining into half, each with the right side facing the right side
4. Stack the outer cloth and lining together
5. Trace the design onto one wrong side of the cloth
6.Cut the design out. You should have 4 pieces of cloth. 2 for each cloth
7. Place the cloths with the same design together.
8. Stack the same cloths together, with the wrong side facing each other
9. Sew the edge of the handles so the same cloths are connected at the handles
10. Open up to form a loop
11. Put the right side of the lining and the right side of the outer cloth together. You should have a two layer loop
12. Now, follow the edge of the circle and sew. Now, the two cloths should be sewed together at the inner loop

Reflection Time!!
After every lesson, we have to do a reflection.
What is my achievement?
I am done stitching the inner and outer layer together. I also found out that I can sew with much ease as compared to the first and previous lesson. I think that is an improvement.
What are your challenges?
At first, when I cut my fabric, I did not match the four layers perfectly. Hence, when i start sewing in a circle, there are gaps between the two layers. Therefore, I would need to patch up the gaps next week during lesson. Also, my machine jammed in the middle of the sewing. Hence, I spent a lot of time trying to repair the machine. I could have used that time to finish the curve.
Have you stuck to your plan? Why?
No. I spent more time sewing the inner and outer layer than I thought I would. Hence, I was unable to start on the pocket and sew the curve. However, I am still satisfied with the product I get today. Next lesson, I will be patching up the gaps, sewing the curve and starting on the pocket. Then, I will only be left with sewing the two sides together and decorating.
